2025 Mparntwe NAIDOC Week
Our Mparntwe NAIDOC celebrations are about recognising Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people, culture & country. Our community have a lot to offer, and NAIDOC week provides the perfect opportunity to showcase our rich and vibrant culture whilst celebrating those that work hard in our community. Our committee aim to deliver committee organised events as well as support, promote and showcase all events open to the public held across Mparntwe that celebrate NAIDOC week.

Our 2025 week of celebrations is filling up and we are excited to have on offer a number of community events such as open days, movie screenings, performances, our ever-popular community march and expo and a long anticipated and regularly requested Mparntwe NAIDOC Ball.

Our events are all made possible due to the community’s support. We invite the whole community to join with us in celebrating NAIDOC week and recognising the history of our culture that dates back over 65,000 years and the First Nations people that continue to hold, practice and share our culture today.

Thank you to our sponsors who make this all possible along with every single person who will march and stand side by side with local Aboriginal people, singing Louder Prouder and Bla(c)ker than ever before, in what we hope will be even bigger than last year. Of course, none of this would happen without our wonderful volunteers, which include the National NAIDOC Committee and our own Mparntwe NAIDOC Committee.

Acknowledgement of Country
The Mparntwe NAIDOC Committee acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the traditional owners of the lands in which we live. We pay our respects to our elders, past, present and emerging and recognise the strength and resilience that has seen our language, culture and traditional practices upheld in the face of adversity by our elders and ancestors.

The Mparntwe NAIDOC Committee acknowledges the Arrernte people on the lands on which we live and work. We pay our respects to the Elders, past and present. With appreciation we acknowledge other Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples that call Mparntwe home.
We recognise the enduring strength of our collective languages, cultures and traditional practices that are upheld in the face of adversity, sustained by our ancestors, our Elders and into the future by the next generations.
